Opening Reception June 13th 2009 7- 10 p.m.

Oh Nancy is a vehicle for artists that provides them with a pre-existing narrative structure into which they can fit their work. By having a constantly open submission process Nate Wellman and Fionn McCabe become instigators of a larger phenomena which has grown to include jewelry makers, photographers, sculptors, conceptual artists, and various other kinds of contemporary thinkers and object makers. The narrative, which includes a classic heroine and battling forces of good and evil is manifested through traditional American characters such as football players, monsters, and blonde damsels in distress. The exhibition at Gallery Diet will bring together all of these media, and the work of over thirty artists.

These hand painted and hand carved oil on wood football
cards float like gods in their large shadowbox frames.
The cards are about 3"x5" and gorgeous.

Peter Moulthrop finds spies in the Alliance!

Sabotage! Not only have these sneaky spies brought
the dreaded worm into the community, they have
defaced the holiest of holy books by putting a hole
in the Corn Alliance Bible!

Joe Keinberger ladies and gentlemen!

"Pig Iron Samson", a mechanical man who helped Edgar
Nash in a "pick up" game against the Hawkmen.
Though outnumbered, they defeated the Hawkmen,
but it rained heavily during the game and little by
little Samson began to rust.  By the end of that revered
game he was rusted solid.
"Pig Iron" is remembered as having given his "life" for
the honor of the Corn Team and Nash (his hero). 

This piece is part of a mural that had been burnt
down by the disgruntled hawk men (who thought the rules had
been broken, that they had been cheated).

Darrel Turner and Rebbecca Garcia, hired by the Alliance for
their fantastic skill, reveal their plans to the public for the first time.
